UTQIAĠVIK (BARROW), AK (December 3, 2020) – Barrow Mechanical and ACE Hardware Top of the
World, both located in Utqiaġvik, Alaska, have generously matched Pick.Click.Give donations given to
Iḷisaġvik College, for a total contribution of $15,184 of PCG donors and the Barrow Mechanical/ACE
Hardware Top of the World match.
Pick.Click.Give is a program that allows Permanent Fund Dividend beneficiaries to donate to various
nonprofit entities across the state. Barrow Mechanical, a residential plumbing and heating business in
Utqiaġvik, has matched PCG donations for three years in a row. The generosity of Barrow Mechanical
means that in 2018 and 2019 in matching PCG donations, a total of $31,000 was contributed to Iḷisaġvik
College and allocated to the Iḷisaġvik College Foundation to support the College’s sustainability.
This is the first year Ace Hardware Top of the World has joined in matching Pick.Click.Give funds, and the
2020 matching donation was shared equally between entities. Every dollar helps support tribal higher
education, which is essential to our North Slope communities and to individual students’ future success
as leaders, business owners, innovators, and workforce participants.
President of Iḷisaġvik College, Justina Wilhelm said, “We are deeply thankful for the generosity of ACE
Hardware Top of the World and Barrow Mechanical for their support of our students who attend
Iḷisaġvik to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to grow as strong and local workforce and continue

generous contributions and both were honored at the December 3rd Iḷisaġvik College Board of Trustees

owned and operated by Robert and Florence Alred.
