Where are you from?
I’m from Atqasuk, AK, it’s a small village south of Barrow, about 65 miles give or take.
What are you studying at Iḷisaġvik College?
Liberal Arts, it’s a good general studies program where you can take different subjects you might be interested in.
What made you decide to enroll in classes at Iḷisaġvik?
It’s closer to home. I didn’t want to go to a big college my first time going to college.
What are your educational goals?
Hopefully go to a 4-year college with a good wildlife program. I interned with the wildlife department this summer and really liked it. I’d like to come back and work for the wildlife department in Barrow.
What are your hobbies when you aren’t studying or working?
Reading and baking. I just got the new Harry Potter book but I haven’t started it yet.
What advice do you have for people thinking about signing up for classes?
If someone is starting out, I recommend Seminar for the Start, it’s a good class to start off with.
Anything else you want to add?
I really love Iḷisaġvik!
