Dual Credit Off-Slope Residents

Iḷisaġvik College, Alaska’s only Tribal College, provides quality academic, vocational, and technical education in a learning environment that supports and strengthens Iñupiat language and culture. As a tribal college, we often partner with other tribal entities including school districts that serve largely Alaska Native/American Indian populations.

Eligible Off-Slope high school juniors and seniors have the opportunity to earn college credit two ways:

  • Memorandum of Agreement with their local school district
  • Independently registering for courses with support from the local school district

The awarding of high school credit is contingent upon acceptance of college credits by the local school district. Therefore, students should consult with their local high school counselors or administrators to ensure that they are on-track for graduation and that registering for Iḷisaġvik College courses will support that goal.
